About Kaila

I lucked into my first project management position and quickly found I had an aptitude for it. Budgets, spreadsheets, timelines…be still my heart! Eventually, I discovered the projects I looked forward to the most were the events. I daydreamed of being a wedding planner but it never went beyond idle curiosity. Until I planned my own wedding in 2022! All my project management skills came to the forefront and the day went off without a hitch. People couldn’t believe it when I said the schedule I had made was not only kept to but the day happened almost to the minute of what I had planned. After patting myself on the back and enjoying my newly married life, I thought about all the other people out there who don’t have the luxury of years of project management experience and are expected to plan their wedding.

Tidbits

  • I grew up in Portland, Oregon, and I love the rain!

  • My favorite books are sci-fi/fantasy or romance and I am in a book club for each of those genres.

  • I write a review for every book I read on Goodreads

  • I also run a sci-fi/fantasy-themed TV show club.

  • My cat J.F. Sebastian (named after the character from Blade Runner) was thanked profusely in our wedding ceremony - we credit him with bringing us together!

  • Brunch is my favorite meal.

  • On summer weekends you can often find me backpacking around gorgeous Oregon wilderness.

  • I absolutely love karaoke! There is a 100% chance I will be walking around singing along to love songs while working at your wedding.

About Kacie

Hi! My name is Kacie Oakman, and I am so excited to be working with Kaila at Rose & Fern Events! I graduated from Boise State University in 2022 with a degree in Marketing. Out of college I began working for a company that planned golf tournaments and charity events for major retailers. While I had fun planning those events, I quickly realized that the corporate world was not for me. I decided to utilize my event planning knowledge towards something I felt more passionate about - weddings! Helping a couple plan one of the biggest days of their lives has been very rewarding so far, and I am excited to see what this wedding season brings!

  • I love being out in nature - hiking, paddle boarding, playing Spikeball, you name it!

  • Attempting Pinterest DIYs is a hobby of mine

  • Survivor is my favorite TV show, and if I wasn't afraid of bugs I'd audition!
