Owner & Lead Coordinator

I discovered my passion for event planning through project management—budgets, spreadsheets, and timelines are my jam! While I managed all kinds of projects, I found myself most excited about events. The idea of becoming a wedding coordinator was always in the back of my mind, but it wasn’t until I planned my own wedding in 2022 that everything clicked. Using my project management expertise, I created a detailed schedule—and the day unfolded almost to the minute!

Now, as the owner of Rose & Fern Events, I specialize in day-of wedding coordination in Portland, Oregon and the Pacific Northwest. I help couples enjoy a seamless, stress-free wedding day by handling all the logistics, timelines, and last-minute details. My goal is to bring organization and calm to one of the most important days of your life.

Tidbits

  • I grew up in Portland, Oregon, and I love the rain!

  • My favorite books are sci-fi/fantasy or classics and I am in a book club for each of those genres.

  • I write a review for every book I read.

  • I also run a sci-fi/fantasy-themed TV show club.

  • I love all animals, especially my sweet kitty Coco, and I will stop everything if out on a walk and a cat is spotted.

  • We live in the country and one of my favorite hobbies is stocking the pantry. I also love to cook delicious meals!

  • There is an abundance of hiking trails nearby and you can often find me roaming the many trails of the Columbia Gorge (my favorite place in the whole world)

  • I absolutely love karaoke! There is a 100% chance I will be walking around singing along to love songs while working at your wedding.

Associate Coordinator

After finding out that one of my best friends was getting married and asked me to be her bridesmaid, I instantly knew I wanted to do anything I could to help her plan for her big day! Fast forward to a few months later while randomly looking at wedding coordinator websites, I came across the Rose & Fern events mentorship program! Ironically enough, my sweet niece’s middle name is Fern and I felt this strong pull to reach out to Kaila. Now I get the amazing opportunity to work along side her and learn the behind the scenes for all things weddings!

Tidbits

  • I grew up in a super small town in Oregon called Clatskanie, where the population is less than 2000.

  • I cannot go a day without listening to music.

  • I’m a sucker for a rom-com, whether it be a book or a movie.

  • Reading is my all time favorite hobby. I could read a book every single day and never get tired of it.

About Samantha

Associate Coordinator

I have always loved planning events, but it wasn’t until I planned my own wedding (a whopping 13 years ago), that I started thinking about events and weddings as a career. I put this on the back burner for a little while as I started working in the non-profit sector, specializing in project and process management. I eventually had the opportunity to plan a conference and knew that events was where I was meant to be. Since then, I have taken on more corporate and non-profit events, from networking receptions, to fundraisers, to conferences. I love seeing the magic of an event coming together, and truly no event is more magical than a wedding. I am thrilled to be working with Rose & Fern Events as a day-of coordinator and have the opportunity to celebrate such a special day with our clients!

Tidbits

  • I have two young children and love exploring all the PNW has to offer for littles! From farms to waterfalls, there are so many adventures to be had (especially for a mom who loves to research!).

  • I love all things floral, whether that’s a vintage floral plate or a flower garden.

  • Of course my favorite season is Spring, when everything starts to bloom.

  • I am a novice gardener, and love sharing in the simple magic of growing food and flowers with my kids.
