There’s nothing like a 200-person Guatemalan wedding, and Megan & Luis’ celebration at Horning’s Hideout Main Stage was pure joy from start to finish. They first tied the knot at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Hillsboro, then made their way to the reception, where the party was already in full swing.

A small army of relatives ran the kitchen, turning out plate after plate of incredible food. I went back to see if there were any more handmade tortillas. There were. I had some. No regrets. The warmth and generosity of their family made this wedding feel even more special.

The highlight of the night had to be La Vibora de la Mar, a traditional Central American dance where the bride and groom stand on chairs while guests rush through underneath, trying to knock them over. Absolutely wild and completely unforgettable. And one of the smartest wedding hacks I’ve seen—kiddie pools as coolers. Genius.

This wedding was a perfect mix of tradition, family, and full-on celebration, and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat.
