Marci’s Celebration of Life
Some people leave a mark that never fades. Marci was one of them.
Her daughter organized a beautiful celebration in her honor, filled with love, laughter, and the little details that made Marci Marci. She read the eulogy herself, and in the midst of the tears, she brought a smile to everyone’s face with one of her mom’s favorite sayings: "Laundry today or naked tomorrow." That kind of humor—practical, a little irreverent, and full of warmth—was exactly who Marci was.
I had the privilege of meeting Marci’s boyfriend, a veteran of the Korean War. The stories he shared, the way he spoke about her—it was clear she was deeply loved.
Blue and white, her favorite colors, were everywhere. Soft, seaside details nodded to her love of the ocean, a place that always brought her peace. And of course, the Seahawks were well-represented—because if you knew Marci, you knew she never missed a chance to cheer them on.
It was a day of remembering, of celebrating, of holding onto the pieces of her that live on in the people who loved her. A reminder that grief and love are forever intertwined.
